I found these really cute boots at a thrift store for $5. If you ask, I'll willingly admit that the majority of my wardrobe comes from resale shops. Hunting at a resale shop adds an element of chance, a thrill of the hunt. There is an often quoted phrase, "This is cute! Or is it?" However, for my persistance in seeking good finds, I am often rewarded. That is the secret: often. People say, "I never find anything!" Do you go once a week? Do you pop into a resale store whenever you have the chance? Do you go on dates with your Mom to Goodwill? Ah, now you see. This why I have a closet of brand name clothing and I can tell you I haven't spent more than eight dollars on each item: I PERSIST. Good luck, I am headed right for that J. Jill sweater also, let's see who gets there first!

A Prayer
Zechariah's Song. It meant a lot to me when I read it--just like poetry.
“Blessed be the Lord God of Israel,
for he has visited and redeemed his
for he has visited and redeemed his
people
and has raised up a horn of salvation
in the house of his servant David,
as he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from of old,
as he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from of old,
that we should be saved from our
enemies
and from the hand of all who
and from the hand of all who
hate us;
to show the mercy promised to our
fathers
and to remember his holy covenant,
the oath that he swore to our father
and to remember his holy covenant,
the oath that he swore to our father
Abraham, to grant us
that we, being delivered from the
that we, being delivered from the
hand of our enemies,
might serve him without fear,
in holiness and righteousness before
might serve him without fear,
in holiness and righteousness before
him all our days. And you, child, will be called the
prophet of the Most High;
for you will go before the Lord to
prepare his ways,
to give knowledge of salvation to his
people
in the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our
God, whereby the sunrise shall visit us
from on high to give light to those who sit in
darkness and in the shadow of
death,
to guide our feet into the way of peace.”
~Luke 1:68-79
